Labor Day Weekend Blast Part 1

While living in Colorado, we've met a lot of neat people, but one family in particular we meshed with really well.  Our children loved to play together and well, they became family really quickly!  A few years ago, they moved to Utah (enter sad sobs), so we have to plan times to visit each other.  We decided that my littles and I would take a trip to their house over Labor Day this year.  Blake unfortunately had to work so I braved the trip without him.  We missed having him there, but we were glad to still have to opportunity to go meet the newest member of their family!

This little cutie pie is Laef!  He is seriously a very happy baby and just loves to have attention!  He just likes to be where people are and watch what's going on around him!  It was so great to get to meet this cute little addition!

We took a fun hike adventure a few hours after we got there!  It was a beautiful walk and surprisingly so close to their neighborhood!  It was the perfect walk for us with our littles because it was paved for us to be able to push strollers!  We made our way along the path to a fun bridge and stream.  Tristan took Abby, Jane and Brandon fishing in a pond just off of the trail we continued on to the stream, so the rest of us took off our shoes and enjoyed playing in the chilly freezing cold water!  We were so surprised that they kiddos lasted as long as they did!  Ethan didn't care how cold the water was...he LOVED being able to play in the water AND be outside!  His perfect world!  The kiddos loved throwing rocks and watching them splash!

From the time that Madie and Meg met they really are the two M&M's.  Sometimes referred to as NutMeg and NutMaddie, they really get along so well and are pretty inseparable.  Each time we get together it's as if they had never been apart.  They were really little when we met the Nelsons, yet they played together from the beginning, despite their tender age of 1.  This trip was no exception!

The scenery on our hike was simply beautiful.  The world truthfully is God's masterpiece!

Towards the time we were needing to head back, my Cailee girl started to feel sick to her stomach.  One of her bodies responses when it's had it is to get an upset stomach and throw up.  Sometimes it's just once, but this time it was a couple of times.  We awkwardly pushed her and they other three littlest in the three strollers that we had.  We were really grateful to meet up with the rest of the crew part way through the trail to have some help pushing a stroller.  We made it back to the car just in time for her to throw up again.  I feel so helpless as a mom when this happens.  It just breaks my heart.  We slowly drove back to their house due the fact that the roads leading to the path were a bit curvy.  The remainder of the evening we relaxed and let my Cailee's girls stomach settle.  By morning she felt sooo much better!  It's amazing what some R&R can do for the body!
