This summer and fall we had these huge grasshoppers. I don't remember them ever being so big here. Madie and her neighbor friends Ella discovered it was a lot of fun to try to keep the grasshoppers as pets. Ella's Mom was even kind enough to let them be in her house in a "habitat" aka a Tupperware container. They actually lived much longer than I expected. So how did they get them you ask?! Well, Abby is quiet the grasshopper whisperer. It was amazing how many she was able to catch. She would coax them into her hand and they would just stay on her hand or crawl up her arm for the longest time! It was so crazy to watch. Abby became the catcher of the grasshoppers for Madie and Ella if they couldn't catch their own. She often times would come home from school and it wouldn't take her long to catch one for the afternoon. It became quiet the ritual for her! Oh the adventures we get to witness with our children!
