Every fall Fruita holds it's Fall Festival! We went to the parade this year! We wanted to watch the traditional outhouse races, but we missed them by about 15 minutes. Oops. Just couldn't get out the door fast enough! But hey, we had great seats to the parade! Ethan loved waving at all the floats. It was fun to see people we know in the parade! One of our favorite babysitters were in the parade with her awesome Mom! They were in the parade with the local hospital crew!
Afterwards we walked around a bit after. They have lots of vendors that bring a variety of things to sell. It was fun to browse for a bit. The kids enjoyed the different booths that they could spin a wheel and get a prize or plinko style booth and win a prize! They thought it was worth walking around for that. There were a few rides but by the time we had walked through everything we were running out of time and needed to get back home. We wanted to take the kids on one ride but the line was so long there was no way we would have gotten done in time. We told the kids we would get them a special treat later for us not getting to ride a ride at the festival.
It's fun to go to our hometown events from time to time! I love the smaller town life with the convenience of a little bit bigger town just a 15 minute drive away!
If we can't live next to family, I'm happy to be living where we live!
