For a few summers, minus last summer, the kids have taken swim lessons while we were in Wyoming. This year, their cousins took lessons at the same time! Jamie was able to get all the kids lessons at the same time! It could not have been more perfect! Ashlee and Madie were the only two in their class! They had two teachers for the two of them and got so much one on one attention. It was so perfect for them! Brandon and Kenna were in the same class and only had a couple of other kids in their class! Cailee, Abby and Megan were in the older class together and had I think about three other kids!
They all had great teachers and I'm amazed at how much they have learned this year! Madie was extremely hesitant to get her face in the water the first day. She did end up putting it in by the end of class, but it took some time to get confident enough to do it. By the end of the two weeks she was going under the water all the time!!
Brandon really loved swim lessons, infact, he told me the other day he wanted to take swim lessons as his next sport! It gave me a good chuckle. I may need to find a swim team for him. We will see! He and the two older girls all did a great job. They all passed their levels! Hooray! It was so much fun seeing them learning new skills.
Jamie and I had a great time chatting (Blake came a couple of times, but lets face it, when two sisters get together, there's a whole lotta talking that's going to happen) while watching them swim. We got a good laugh out of the funny things Madie and Ashlee would do and loved seeing how much the older kids were improving! It was pretty cute watching the older girls learning the beginning steps of diving! I'm pretty sure there were a few belly flops in the mix!
Funny story...my sweet niece Ashlee is exactly four weeks younger than Madie. They are most definately two peas in a pod! Madie and Ashlee were practicing jumping off the platform to one of their teachers. Ashlee went first and I'm not sure if she was nervous or excited but she over jumped and landed right on her teachers head! (see pictures of Ashlee's jump below). What I didn't get a picture of was Ashlee's face when both she and her teacher came back out of the water. She looked like a dinosaur gasping for air! She was fine so I could laugh!! Silly girl! I think Madie was a little bit nervous to jump after seeing Ashlee but finally got talked into taking the plunge!
A big thank you to my Mommasita for watching my Ethan boy! I have the best Mom in the world! She not only watched him but bathed and got him ready for the day! It was so nice to come back to a clean toddler! I enjoyed going to watch swim lessons without fighting a sweet 2 year old who of course would want to take a swim himself!
