Summer Lovin...Birthday Celebration!

We got to celebrate my Papasitos Birthday at Pizza Hut!!  We took up an entire section of the restaurant! My Grandparents treated all of us to pizza and breaksticks!  It was delicious!  A big thanks to our beautiful photographer Jamie for taking fun pictures!  The kids did a great job behaving, which made for a fun evening celebrating!  After the fabulous pizza, we took a small detour and went to see a tree that had been struck by lighting just a few days prior.

Wednesday night there was an amazing rain storm, accompanied by thunder and lightening!  It was amazing to see.  We were at my parents house, while they were finishing up cleaning at Lintons.  There was a big flash and crash at the same time that felt like it sucked all the electricity out of the house!  It was unreal!  The lights flashed for just a second.  When my parents arrived home a bit later, they said that a tree right by the baseball field had been struck by a lightning bolt!  My Dad said he could feel it when it hit!  We wanted to see so we took a little detour.  It was crazy how it blew the bark right off the tree.  It had these red streaks down parts of it where it looked like it was burnt but not black.  It was so strange.  The kids found it just as fascinating!  Seeing that makes me wonder how anyone could survive being struck by lightning.

After our short detour, we ventured back to my parents for some yummy strawberry short cake and ice cream!!  The kiddos all played till it was time for everyone to go home and the adults got to visit!  It was a great day celebrating an amazing Dad!!  I truly don't know what I would do without my Dad.  He is not a big talking on the phone man, but I always know that if I need advice about anything and I need to talk to him, he is right there!  My Dad has an amazing heart!  He loves us crazy kids!
When Blake and I were first married and off to college, we would get a simple piece of white paper telling us to go have a date night and signed, Love Dad with money wrapped in the white paper!  I think that describes my Dad very well.  Simple and loving all wrapped up in one!  There are so many things my Dad and Mom have done for us.  They are our #1 supporters and cheerleaders!  It would take a very long time to list how amazing my parents are and everything they've done for us!
My Dad is also a big jokester.  I think we can all say something and after we've said it, pause so he can insert a pun or something to tease us!  Without fail!  He loves his grand kids and they LOVE when he teases them!  Ethan giggles and giggles and will tease Grandpa knowing he will get tickled or teased back!
Happy Birthday Papasito!!  I don't know what we would do without you!
Much Love,
Christy
