Summer Lovin...Not Caught On Camera

Our last Friday night in Wyoming, my brother's girls, Hailey and Kennedy, had a sleepover!  I can't believe I didn't get any pictures.  Cailee had an infusion that night and I helped all the kiddos make bead animals!  I think between the two I just forgot about the camera...darn.  The bead animals turned out really cute!  We also enjoyed some yummy treat from Grandma and watched a movie!  It was a great combination to entertain all the kiddos while Cailee was stuck and not able to go anywhere.  The next day most of the cousins (and Derr...of course) played together, going back and forth from Jamie's house to Grammy's house!  They made cards, played Just Dance, barbies, and so much more!  I think the cutest thing was the girls setting up a nail salon in Jamie's bathroom!  They had all the nail polishes lines up and ready to paint!  There was even a table set up in the bath tub...it was hilarious!  We weren't completely sure what the table in the tub was for, but I'm pretty sure they had a great reason.  I'm fairly certain that the smell of nail polish and remover stayed in Jamie's house for a week!  Okay, maybe not that long, but it was so strong!  They sure had a great time with it!

They all had lunch at Grammy's house and played their little hearts out until it was time to go to pizza hut that night for my Dad's birthday.  They all played really well together!!  I'm so glad we had the opportunity to get them all together and I'm glad I got to get to know them better!

Some of my favorite moments that were not caught on camera were relaxing and visiting with my family!  I miss getting to sit in person and visit about anything and everything!  I miss the laughing and funny things we all do.  I miss my little brother Derr teasing me endlessly!  I miss watching my kids play with their cousins and uncle!  They are like built in best friends for each other.  I miss the feeling of belonging and a place that feels safe, free from judgement and filled with so much love!  I miss being right there by my Mom!  She is truthfully my best friend and I so desperately wish we lived closer.  I am forever grateful for modern technology and the ability to talk to her on the phone.  I miss her fabulously delicious cookies!  She baked so many cookies and I'm pretty sure the three buckets and two rectangle Tupperware containers did not last past the third week!  They were that good!  I definitely left a few pounds heavier!  I miss cooking in the kitchen with my Mom and Sister!  I miss showing my family a few new recipes I've tried and loved!  I miss getting to visit with my grandparents!  I have the best family in the world.  I miss pretty much everything!

Blake and I got to escape over night to Billings to spend a few days together!  It was heavenly!  We took Justin's car to drive and I laughed a few times telling Blake without the kids and not driving a van I felt so young!  It's been a long time since I've felt that young!  I will admit while it was nice it was a little strange too.  I'm so used to head counting in public that I caught myself a few times looking around and having to remind myself they were safe and sound with Grammy!  I'm pretty sure they didn't miss us at all!  They had such a great time with Aunt Jamie and Grammy that they didn't have time to even realize we were gone!  While in Billings we went to the movie theater and watched "Maleficent"!  Now that my friends is how the original Sleeping Beauty should have been written!  It was magnificent!  I'm not a big Angelina Jolie fan but she did such a fantastic job.  I'm looking forward to it coming out on DVD and showing it to our kiddos!  When we first got to the theater, we thought we were going to have the entire thing to ourselves.  We weren't really early at all so it looked pretty promising, but a few people came in a bit later.  Apparently they got the memo that this theater shows a million previews before the movie actually starts!  We don't go the the theater very often but I was amazed at the amount of previews there were.  I don't think all theaters play that many.  Overall, it was just so nice to get to spend time holding hands and talking without our sweet littles in between.  Don't get me wrong, I love them fiercely, but it was wonderful to have some one on one time with my hubs.

To sum it all up, the two weeks in Wyoming were heaven sent.  It's just what my tired sole needed to rejuvenate!  From great conversation to laughter, playing, some amazing rain storms, and most of all the best family ever, we had a really hard time leaving.  No one wanted to leave.  There is an empty lot across from my parents house and we teased about moving in!  Oh, if only it could come true.  For now, we know we are where the Lord wants us to be.  We are where we need to be for Cailee and I think for all of us.  We don't have all the answers as to why we need to be here, but for now I trust that the Lord knows what we need.  We may be hundreds of miles away, but no amount of mileage can separate this family.  We are so blessed!
